Boxers Puppies - History of the Breed

Boxers are the breed known from the 16th century. The breed actually appeared thanks to selective breeding of George Alt who lived in Germany and strived to produce a healthy, strong and devoted animal. The breed was a result of cross of Bullenbeiser dog and, at that time, the puppies were parti colored. Later the dogs were also bred to an English Bulldog.
Nowadays the puppies that are born white are disqualified and they are not allowed to breed or participate in the show ring. The breed standard only allows only fawn and brindle colored dogs. The main characteristic of the breed is the head.
Dogs Weight: 65-80 lbs. (29.5 - 36.4 kg).
Dogs Height: 22,5-25 in. (57-63,5 cm) at withers.
Bitch Weight: 50-65 lbs. (22.7-29.5 kg).
Bitch Height: 21-23,5 in. (53-60 cm) at withers.
Main characteristics of the Breed: These are very good watchdogs and guards.
Life Expectancy: 8 - 10 years.
Boxers Puppies - Character
This breed is the most gifted of canines as far as specialized talents are concerned. These dogs are good for hunting, herding, trailing, and so on. The breed is good for children, women, and elderly people, as it is very devoted to the owner and makes an all-around dog. Boxers have an individual appearance and are very intelligent and soundly even-temper.
